About 4 mornings a week I go to my favourite gym. I love this gym because its very real and filled with real fun people that love a laugh and go there as much for a chat and to socialise as to exercise.

The focus is always of course on exercise and they have a huge choice of different equipment and different classes you can attend.

I love that a fantastic personal trainer there taught me a series of weight bearing exercises. This takes me about 30 minutes each morning and gives me exactly the muscle tone I want in the shortest amount of time. Great place and I love it!

One of the things I enjoy reading are the inspirational quotes that appear on the LCD screen that they have in the main training area, and the other morning, I saw an awesome quote “The best investment you can ever make is in your body”.

Totally agree with this, absolutely, because a fit healthy body enables you to enjoy so many other aspects of life.

And you know what, its even more than that, because to even get into that gym on the regular basis that I do and to enjoy lifting heavy weights at 6.30 in the morning, I must first of all have a mind that thinks in a certain way.

So to re phrase that quote, I would say that the best investment you can ever make is in yourself and it all begins with the mind.

Our mind and the way we think is the basis of all successes in our life, because without the right mindset we will find it very challenging to even get started.

Even if we do find the push to get ourselves started, without developing our mind and choosing thoughts that are in alignment with what we are aiming to achieve, it won’t be long before we find ourselves back behind the very same line that we started from and wondering why we never seem to be able to get what we want.

Have you ever found yourself on a new diet and exercise plan, with all your hopes of getting to that target weight at last and thinking to yourself “This time I will do it, this time it will be different” and ending up going around in circles yet one more time?

How about a plan to achieve a higher turnover in your business or a higher income and you begin to see changes, things are starting to move and then all of a sudden you are back on that roller coaster ride, until eventually you find yourself back where you started and jump off the ride?

How about a plan to improve your work/life balance and you start out with all good intentions, make a couple of changes and all is starting to look great. Then someone throws a spanner in the works, so you decide to give up and end up going back to your old ways, dashing from one place to another, feeling anxious, with never enough hours in the day to fit everything in.

Mindset training is essential to make effective and permanent changes to any area of your life. Because you’ve heard the saying “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”.

So if we want to achieve something different then we need to start thinking in a very different way and when we do that we are able to be more flexible in the way we behave and more strategic in our actions.

Many different people use a mindset coach to help them step up to that next level, including elite athletes, business people, performers, professionals, executives, people wanting to improve their career, improve their work/life balance, have better relationships, build more effective teams and some people because they want to have more confidence or understand themselves and be happy.

So what is the meaning of the word “mindset”?

It is the way we think on a regular basis, its kind of like the grooves in an old 45 record (woops I’m showing my age!), the needle gets stuck in the groove, meaning your thoughts are set in a certain pattern and that is why you keep experiencing the same results over and over again.

As an NLP coach I help people work on scratching that record so you can play a very different tune, meaning I help you create new patterns of thinking so you can create very different results.

So no matter what you want to achieve or what area of your life or career you want to change or improve, your mind and the way you think is the code.

Start working on your mindset first and notice the difference!

Investing in your mindset is key!
