We are already 2 weeks into January and I know that you may already have your goals mapped out for the year, or even the next few years.

You are probably hearing and seeing goal setting mentioned all over the place, because this is the time of the year that we tend to focus on this.

I think its important to mention here that goal setting and focus are essential for success not just at the beginning of the year but throughout the year. And, equally important is our mindset and the way we think.

The way we see the world and what we think affects the way we feel. And the way we feel affects how easily we achieve our goals or not.

If we are looking at the world through foggy lenses and have a pessimistic viewpoint, we will notice that our emotions aren’t that spectacular. This will affect our body language, we will probably be slower off the starting line and we may find it a struggle to get to where we want be, if in fact we even achieve our goals at all.

When we see the world through different eyes and have a more optimistic viewpoint, we will begin to think very differently. This opens up an endless flow of opportunities because the emotions we are feeling are more in line with what we want to achieve. Our body language is more positive and we are much faster in moving on the opportunities that are presented to us.

Our psychology meaning the way we think and feel affects our physiology, meaning our body language, and what we are prepared to do in our physical environment. The opposite is also true; our physiology affects our psychology.

So it’s vital that we learn how to be effective with both if we want to be successful in what we want to achieve.

Tony Robbins talks about this in his book “Awaken the Giant Within”, he calls it the “Physiology and Psychology of Excellence”.

During my journey, I have worked on my achievement both ways. I have set goals and worked really hard to achieve them, never quite getting there and wondering why I hadn’t.

I have also done this the easy way, setting highly effective goals and developing the mindset and emotions to help me achieve them and I know which way I prefer.

When you develop the mindset of excellence, you will notice that things flow with more ease and when you do stumble upon a challenge, you find it easier to negotiate it, even finding an opportunity in the process. You achieve your goals with more ease and flow and have more enjoyment and fulfilment in your life.

There are many different ways to do this and working with a mindset coach is probably the easiest way to do it.

Here are 3 Success hacks to start you off:

1. Create bite sized goals
It’s important to start with big longer terms goals because this gives you direction. The thing is, if your goals remain really huge then you might feel a little overwhelmed wondering how on earth you are going to get there. When you break your big goals down into bite-sized pieces you notice that overwhelm disappears and you feel calm and more certain because you have something you feel you can easily handle.

2. Maintain a positive focus
Learn to look for the good and the lesson in all situations, even the most challenging ones and always know that you have everything within you to deal with whatever is in front of you, no matter how challenging it is. And this includes things that you have never done before, because this can often bring up feelings of nervousness. When you focus on your end game and feel the emotions you will feel when you get there, it will help you move through the challenges and step out of your comfort zone far more easily.

3. Manage your emotions
Emotion is energy and will either attract what you want to achieve or create resistance to it, depending on what the emotion is. When you are experiencing high quality emotions, you start thinking in a much more productive way. If you want to achieve your goals with ease and flow then it will help you to start each day with uplifting emotions. You can do this a number of different ways, some of them include exercise, meditation, gratitude practice, deep breathing, yoga, TaiChi, just to name a few. You can also do this by learning how to anchor resourceful emotions and I will be sharing how to do this in my upcoming training on 4th and 5th February 2017.

No matter what you want to achieve it all begins with your mindset meaning the way you think. When you learn to think in a highly effective way and develop high quality emotions you give yourself maximum opportunity to make this a year you want to remember!
